Deeper CRM and Engagement Insight
The CRM already unifies orders, forms, and memberships around each Customer — the next step is turning that unified data into proactive insight.
Planned/explored directions:
- Engagement scoring — a simple, transparent score per customer based on order history, event attendance, form activity, and newsletter engagement (extending today's "order count as activity proxy" approach).
- Lifecycle automation — using the existing Automation engine to trigger re-engagement outreach for customers whose activity has dropped, without needing a separate marketing automation tool.
- Segment builder UI — a Backstage tool to visually build customer segments (by category, order history, or group membership) for newsletters and reporting, without needing custom queries.
- Donor/member journey tracking — for non-profits and membership organizations, visualizing a supporter's full journey (first contact → member → active volunteer) using existing
Customer,UserGroup, andShopOrderrelationships.
Why This Matters
Organizations increasingly need to understand engagement, not just transactions. Building this on top of the existing Customer-centric model keeps every insight tied back to real, already-connected data rather than a new disconnected analytics silo.
Technical Notes
These features would extend CustomerService and the existing Automation processors, consistent with the platform's principle of adding capability to existing services rather than introducing parallel CRM/marketing tools operating on the same Customer table.
